When I first started writing fiction 15 years ago, I embraced the writing community. I joined groups and attended workshops. And when I stopped writing, I stopped going. Luckily some of those people I met stuck with me. One of them is mystery writer and podcaster, Liz Mugavero.

Liz and I met at the Seascape Mystery Writers’ Conference in Connecticut in 2008, along with many other authors like Sherry Harris and Edith Maxwell. We’ve remained friends ever since. On a recent trip to the USA, I caught up with both Liz and Sherry.

They were both instrumental in helping me to get back on track with writing, workshopping the plot of my latest crime novel.

I was honoured to be invited onto Liz’s Get Writing podcast. You can listen to the episode here.
